The word genocide has been thrown about freely by anti-Israel activists and politicians – without serious consideration of the meaning of the word and the truth of the claim.
Of course for the accusers, it doesn’t matter. It is enough to simply use the word to do the damage.
This is how the propaganda machine works. Accuse Israel of some heinous crime – quote some so-called authority to give an appearance of legitimacy. By the time the research is done, and the claim has been proven false, the lie has taken hold – simply through repetition.
Consider the words of @douglaskmurray who said that libels like genocide are used simply to wound, hurt and abuse the Jewish people.
