Schools and universities are supposed to be places of learning, inquiry, and intellectual curiosity. They are where young people develop the critical thinking skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex world.
Yet for many Jewish students, educators, and families, educational spaces have become ground zero for some of the most troubling manifestations of anti-Jewish racism.
The stories collected here examine what happens when institutions tasked with teaching nuance instead promote simplistic narratives, ideological conformity, historical erasure, or double standards. They highlight incidents affecting students from kindergarten through higher education, revealing patterns that are often invisible to those who are not directly impacted. These incidents include every form of conceivable civil rights violation from daily racist abuse by classmates and teachers, threats of violence, physical assault, public humiliation, discrimination and purposeful negligence on the part of administrators.
Education shapes how future generations understand history, identity, justice, and one another. When Jewish experiences and perspectives are excluded, distorted, or dismissed, the consequences extend far beyond the classroom.
These stories help illuminate what many Jewish students and families are experiencing—and why so many are raising concerns.
